D7000 primary characteristics

1. A new sensor DX format CMOS image sensor and new image processing engine, EXPEED 2, both developed by Nikon can capture high definition images with superior image quality

The D7000 is equipped with a new Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor and a new image processing engine, EXPEED 2. The camera has an effective pixel count of 16.2 megapixels and can capture high definition images with superior image quality with a rendering highly detailed and rich in tonal gradations. With the standard sensitivity range of ISO 100 - 6400 and further increases the capacity Hi 2 (ISO 25600 equivalent), the camera has improved with shooting under low light, as in the evening or inside, and also expands the possibilities of expression with fast-moving subjects.
Nikon EXPEED 2 is the latest image processing engine developed with the ideas, know-how and technologies for digital images Nikon has grown over the years. EXPEED 2 enables faster processing of the image, a high level of noise reduction, better color reproduction characteristics, and reduced energy consumption.

2. A compact and stylish which offers both the authenticity and flexibility
A magnesium alloy was adopted for the top and back for increased durability in a size equivalent to that of D90. All joints on the body of the device have also been sealed to ensure a higher level of water and dust resistance.

3. A new sensor of 2016 pixels RGB metering
With 2016 pixels, the new sensor developed for measuring the D7000 offers twice the pixels as our previous measurement sensor upscale. Before the shooting, the 2016 pixel RGB sensor acquires specific information on the scene. This information is then translated into a focus, auto exposure, i-TTL Balanced Fill-Flash, and controlling auto white balance for pictures very loyal.

4. A new 39-point AF system
AF Sensor Module to 39 focusing points effective
Adoption of the Multi-CAM4800DX new autofocus sensor module enables acquisition and tracking of some of the object for 39 points of focus.
Nine cross-type sensors in center most frequently used in the frame to allow the acquisition of some of what they provide.
In addition, the number of active focus points can also be limited to 11.
Higher on acquisition and performance monitoring
Depending on the scene or subject, the AF area mode can be selected from single-point AF, Dynamic AF, 3D tracking and Auto-AF. focal areas in which there are many focal points to work together to acquire and accurately track the object.

5. D-Movie for recording and editing movies in Full HD
The D7000 is equipped with the D-Movie function that allows recording of movies in high definition (1920 × 1080p, 24 frames per second) with superior video quality. AF during video recording is possible using contrast-detect AF. When the mode of development is full-time AF (AF-F) and the AF area mode Subject Tracking AF, the camera automatically controls focus on a moving subject across the frame in three dimensions . The D7000 also offers in-camera video editing functions that allow users to record a single image as a JPEG image or remove unwanted portions from the beginning or end of video files.
Stereo sound recording via microphone is also supported.
